I always rent a car for road trips. I just hate the thought of putting a lot of miles on my baby in one shot. With a rental, I can drive the hell out of it without worrying about idiots, road debris, bugs, and having to wash her after the trip.

I say take yours since its only 300 miles straight, if it was the 1000k straight then I would prob rent but if your running around town etc once you get there your going to wish ya had ya stang.

+1...drive it.
If you take the stang there is only room for you and the wife , and if you have arrangements to meet her friends somewhere...you get to pull up in a hot car.

"Well the trip is to Maine, which is only around 300 miles, however the last time we were there we went a few places - thats why I put down around 1000mi. We are visiting a few of my wife's friends, and going a few place."

I typically drive my wife's car (VW Passat) when we plan a road trip. I don't have to worry about racking up any miles or dings on my Stang. :-)
Is that an option for you?

It'd be more fun to take your car, that's for sure.
Just use a bra on long trips, so you don't get sandblasted on Highways following/passing big trucks.

My wifes does have a Corolla that we can take, however I am sure she wouldn't want to take it considering its already high mileage.

I was thinking about bra idea as well, but I never had one, nor have I put one on.

What do you think about this one:

EDIT: I can't use a bra anyway cause of the chin, oh well :P

Out here in LA there are thousands of 2010 Mustands at rental lots. See if you can score one of those for a good price. If not take yours. You only live once so enjoy your car.
