Both seem to be fairly close in price. Ive seen 07 GT500 for $36-38k and 07 C6 vettes for $33-38k depending on options.

I know alot of you will side with the GT500 BUT if you guys were to defend the vette against the GT500 what reasons could you see why someone would choose a 07 C6 over a 07 GT500

I was faced with the same decision and I choose the saleen. C6's are boring. I like that they have big NA blocks but so does the gt500. they are light. but fiberglass?? I have also heard from many people that the vettes arent comfortable to drive. Someone on this forum or another actually has a C6 z06 and I think a saleen extreme and loves driving the saleen more because its more comfortable. just some ideas

Vette has more potential. Both can make silly power, but you can only shave so much weight from the gt500.

You definitely need to have some good knees for the vette. Getting in and out can be difficult for those not in good shape. As for driving, my stepdad's vette rode great.

If a saleen were an option, I would definitely do that. It's a tough call though. I think the Vette is probably a better car overall than the gt500 but the gt500 is far more rare than a C6 (at least in my area). I personally prefer the looks of the GT500 but I definitely prefer the performance and engineering of the C6.

I have 2 little kids, which I would be able to put on the back seat of the gt, but not in the C06 (if that is a consideration)

I had a 2005 Vette. I really enjoyed that car but I think the mustang has much better styling and same potential for power.

I say go with the GT500.

i guess i have been a ford man my whole life so this we be an easy decision for me... plus the gt500 was my dream car...

hard choice. i drove my brothers 02 zo6 for about a month when i sold my 350z and was out looking for my stang. I actually had the option of keeping the z06 or getting a gt. I ended up getting the stang (but i still borrow the vette every once in a while) those things are fassst. overall i think the mustang makes a better daily driver

Except for classic vettes, none of them are worth a sh#t to me, until the C5.
The C4 being an unreliable cluster f#ck and boring looking at best.
Has to be the worst of all the different generations.
I do have a lot of respect for the new Vettes (ZR1 and the like) now, they're in super car territory...

After all this, I'd still go with the Shelby just because I'm a Ford dude...
