My biggest complaint about a GT500 conv. is that you have to have the small wheels, you get the 18's instead of the 19's, that and I love the hard top. I would go drive both, there are tons of '07-'09's out there to go drive to help make your decision.

I owned an '87 Mustang Convertible; it was nice -- but was demolished by someone who wasn't paying attention driving behind me, resulting in a good case of the whiplash. I digress.

It was fun, the cool factor was there, and I was younger. But after that, I noticed I longed for a more silent ride (which may not be as much of a factor now, given that they build them with better seals, I'd imagine), and more privacy in general. I tended to use it less and less.

Not to rain on your choice (no pun intended), but once was enough for me. So if it is your first, you may very well have a blast with it, and decide it is for you for this ride and future rides.

The first convertible you own (if it is your first) will no doubt be fun for you -- the novelty of it and all.

I'm strictly a solid top type now. The car in itself gives me enough pleasure in that I don't long for the added factor of open air. Sunroofs/Glass Tops are another way to go to give you that open air feeling, though it ain't no vert!

One site I saw said that the 2010 can be gotten with a sunroof, but the configuration site (Ford's) doesn't list this as an option. Is this something one would have to get aftermarket? I think sunroofs are the ideal compromise between convertibles and hardtops (well, really ideal is a removable hardtop! until it starts raining and the hardtop is at home, I imagine!).
