Default Need Help with CAI and Tune, problems after install

Hopefully you guys can help me out. I received my C&L cold air intake and a SCT tuner from Bamachips yesterday. The installation and flash of the memory went fine until I started the car. The engine sounded like it was going to stall and it was shaking a bit so I quickly turned the car off. I tried both the torque and the performance tune but the same thing happened both times. What's up? I emailed Doug at Bama chips and tried calling but nobody picked up (I'll try calling again later).

There is only one thing I can think of that I may have done wrong. I just switched to 93 octane gas before the install. My gas light came on and I filled the car with 93 rather than the 87 I usually run. Drove the car for around 10 minutes, is it possible the gas hasn't circulated through the system yet? Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Did you order three 93 octane tunes?

And yes, I'd say it's definitely possible the gas is the problem. It's usually suggested to run a WHOLE tank of XX octane through your tank before you use a tune for that octane.

Having the wrong octane in the system will make your car ping, but I dont believe it would make it shudder and shake. Especially at idle. I could be wrong, but I believe you have a tune problem, not so much a gas problem.

You don't need to put the old air box on, just load a lower octane tune..

My car idled crazy for the first 30 seconds of having a cai/tune, it adjusted and never had problems again.

Yeah, I thought of that but unfortunately all the tunes I ordered are 93 octane.

Did you make sure everything on the intake was tight? My intake was loose and had a similar issue where the car would hesitate.

swapped out to the old intake, went back to stock and the car started right up and purred like a kitten. I'm gonna go run around a bit and then reinstall on Monday and see what happens. Everything looked right.

Check the MAF sensor, mine did the same thing and it was because I hadn't put the MAF sensor into the intake tube lol
