Go pick up a copy of MM&FF for this month. There is an entire article about lowering your car, replacing the sway bars and what it does. Read it on the plane home today, very insightful......

I like my 20" rims and I don't notice that big of a difference in the ride quality from my girlfriends GT with 17".

I have to agree with Don W. Lower profile tires just don't look right on the 05 Mustang. I've got 18" Chrome bullits and 245/55/18 BF Goodrich KDWS tires and they fill up the wells just right. The ride and handling are excellent. These tires are about 1 1/2" taller than the stock 235/55/17's and don't rub at all. Another good site to compare tire sizes is www.1010tires.com.

Has anyone tried just lowering the rear? The front height seems fine, would like to see the rear dropped about 1"-1.5"'s
that may even out the wheel well gaps so they're about the same front and rear.

Any thoughts?..pro's cons?

Just my opinion mind you, but the whole appeal to many of the new 'stang is the retro look. That mandates a sloped stance from the back towards the front. To have the rear lower than the front - pardon my un pc'ness but that's just low ridin' wrong dude!

Even with the car lowered the rear still sits up higher it does not look like a low rider if it did I would not have lowered mine.I like the way it closes up the gap in the rear wheel well. But it's just my opinion to each his own.

I agree that the forward rake is one of the styling elements I love about this car. If anything, I may go to some sort of a drag racing setup in the front which will drop it slightly (<1"), but leave the rear where it is (so I still have clearance for large drag tires should I want them).

Don you need to find you some 1970 version Gabriel Hijackers for that Sonic Blue demon of yours. That way you can raise and lower it at will.
