The seat in the gt500 seam to have more support in turns and under hard acceleration, I have both cars and IMO the gt500 seat feel better. The 500 seats have side air bags so I would think the seat frame would be a little stronger? Their's plenty of 09 at the Ford dealer go down and test drive one and see for yourself. I also agree with the others they have more padding.

Newer GTs have side airbags as well.

My 05 doesn't but I drove an 08 gt it seam like the 05 but I'am not sure if it had side air bag?? All I'am trying to say is their a noticeable difference in the two I own.

try going to a dealership, check out either the bullitt or the gt500 and just grasp the side bolster and try to shimmy it. it's got a lot more resistance than the standards. you'll notice as soon as you try to shimmy your own.

Are the 01 Bullit seats more "supportive" than the 01 GT seats as well?

A general overall discussion to relate to mustang seats... compare the Saleen, Cobra, GT and Bullitt seats for 2001. Which ones are similar? I ask because I dont like my seats in the 01 GT, I like the looks of the Bullitt seats but I really want something to sit INTO and not just on.

i gotta say this is one of those things about FORD that irritates me. The price difference of both seats is probably less then $50. If they realized that the GT seats were inadequate why not put those seats on all leather mustangs, not just the GT500/Bullitt.

If people on this forum cant even tell the exact difference i cant imagine its much of a selling point for getting a GT500/Bullitt.

my Bullitt seats are a world apart from the regular GT seats.

I test drove a 09 and a 10 GT before buying my 09 B.


The B/GT500 seats lock your butt into place. I've taken a few hard corners and had no latteral movement...very nice

they are definitely different. i cant speak for the frame, but i know for a fact that the side bolstering on the GT500 and Bullitt has greater padding and support than the gt seats, and that the covers are sut differently around the bolsters.

i inquired the parts desk at my dealer as to which parts exactly were different, and the gist that i got was that it had noting to do with the frame. of course, that was from the parts counter guy at a dealer, so yeah

I don't like my GT seats. They LOOK nice, but are hard and uncomfortable like a ****. I really miss my '95's cloth seats. Those things hugged me like a teddy bear and were soft as one too. I know that probably sounds gay as hell...LOL!

I've been curious about the Corbeau LG1 leather seats. They look good but I wonder if they're more comfortable. I'm in my car for long periods of time due to the distance my work is and my stock seats kill me.
