305 Miles to E?
I have an 05' GT and when I first got it in January I only got 255 Miles to E.
Every month or so that slowly creeps up. This past month I think it went from 285 /290 to 305 last night?? Is the sensor getting messed up or something?
Anyone else had this problem?

mines does the same thing sometimes it marks 315 miles to e and some other times itll go up to 285 only.i have notice that in a really hot day stays lower than cool days.you could try to reset the computer by disconeting the battery for about 30 minutes.

The on-board computer tends to be be generous on most Stangs to begin with. Also, If you're not resetting the avg. MPG, gallons used, etc. at each fillup, the computer will take averages that may not reflect your most recent mileage. Also, if you're actually getting better gas mileage (cooler temps, more coasting and less aggresive driving, more highway/cruising, etc) then it only follows that your average mileage until empty will increase.
If you really want to be as dead-on as possible, hand calculate your mileage at each fill-up. There are so many variables that affect it that it's really tough to tell what affects it over the course of time but hand calculating is the best way to see what your car and driving style is doing mileage-wise.

MOST cars from what I've seen tend to be generous by about 1-2 MPG, sometimes more. My Stang is off by 1-2 and my 4Runner is off by 2. However, my g/f's 06 pony's computer reads almost dead-on every fill-up. Go figure...
