Default Shaker 1000 MAJOR VIBRATION NOISE

I am on my way to the dealer to pick my '05 Vert ....after them looking into a MAJOR VIBRATION from the two rear 1/4 panels.

When the shaker 1000 system is up loud with major Bass, the area where the bumper attaches to the rear 1/4 panels rattles like a 2yr old's teething ring [:@]

Do any of you (who have the shaker 1000) have the same problem???

The service guy just called me to tell me that there is no known problem (however he COULD hear it), due to the fact that you can't hear it when you are in the car and the roof is up [:@]'

Talk about PISSED OFF!!!! I told him this is and '05 Mustang not a F'n 82 corrola or civic with a back seat full of speakers!!!!!!!!

So he has set me up with the service manager (who i will see when i get down there), but I don't hold much hope!

Any input?

Cheers

Stick to the corrola or civic comments. Let them know, civics with a back seat full of speakers get better gas milage, so tell them to either fix it, or make the car get better gas milage.

2 10's powered by 500 Watts = vibration in just about any car [:@] I only have the Shaker 500, but I am thinking of adding the new MTX 12" system for the 2005, and fully expect it to cause some vibrations. But at the volumes I like to listen at I can't imagine being able to notice it.

But I am curious to know if others are experiencing this. Maybe since its a vert (thus no roof to support the sides/quarters) this leads to more vibration tendancies??

Dude, that is one problem I expect they aren't going to fix. They'll simply turn the base down and say "there".

I got alot of rattle once I replaced the Shaker "A" with a "B". I had previously added another amp and a 10" sub to the trunk but it wasn't until the "B" installation that it really started rattling. You are probably getting the rattle from the same area I was - it originated from that area in the trunk right bellow the rear speakers. I dynamated my trunk - no more rattle.

Now if I can just get the damn suspension to quit popping....(allready had the TSB fix and its baaaaaack....)

Earl,

Excuse my ignorance, but what does "Dynamated" mean...... As for the issue, it will only be resolved or turned into a TSB if enough of us complain.

I'll be dam'd if I am gonna put up with this **** after paying close to a grand (or what ever the option cost) I will be sure to post the # the dealer gave me, so that anyone else who had the issue can call them and start SCREEMIN [:@] about it.

I must admit I see myself loosening the panels back there and finding a fix myself. But as I say, it wont be before I casue a bit of a stink!

As for those of you placing orders, tell them to RAM THE SHAKER 1000 where the sun doesn't shine!

Cheers

Mine is tight as a drum, no problems at all ... so far.. with the rattle issue that is

Now, I can tell you how you might find it, NOT that you should have to, but... Find or get a Dr.s reflex hamer, soft rubber... and I would start tapping things with it, I bet you find it. they work great for stuff like this!

Ditto. Maybe it's the kind of music you're playing.

Christopher,

Thanks for the input, but try turning the volume up with "quite a bit of bass" and stand outside the car with the doors closed and see if you can hear it while standing at the rear end.

Infact, would be so kind as to try that out and let me know....... When I was at the dealer yestarday, they didn't have any cars with the 1000 in them, or I was gonna try it myself.

Cheers!

well your defintally going to hear a rumble from the trunk if you have the subs bass turned way up..that is sorta the point...as for teh quarter panal thing not sure...the subs probably arent powerfull enough to shake the frame so maybe its just the fiberglass resonatting from the rumble
