Why in the world would someone want to add all the rear amps and speakers along with
the expensive needed 1000 Ford wiring harness that 500 equipped stangs dont have.?
Its way more complicated and you still have an OEM battery draining, CD shuffling
with the key off POS after it is all over.
Are you speaking from experience, or just referring to the issue threads that pop up on the forums? Keep in mind no one's going to write a thread about their Shaker working CORRECTLY - only when something messes up, which is a very small percentage. You act like EVERY system out there simply falls apart and fails.

I have an '05 with the Shaker 1000 and this thing is a dream. I had an Alpine system with a Kenwood 12" in my previous car, and simply sold it after my first drive in the 'stang.

Keep in mind, if you want sound QUALITY and not just SPL, you're going to have to do a LOT more work than simply throwing in a trunk full of subs. The 1000s system has internal crossovers and allows ALL the speakers (and there's a ton) to work correctly, with the required frequency overlaps and responses. Very few people know how to design an aftermarket system and tune crossovers so everything sounds good - I've done some sound engineering as well, and like I said, this system is VERY impressive.

The best thing..? It doesn't take up any room, compared to aftermarket systems. Everything is tucked away in the corner in the trunk, and the other speakers are clean OEM style, not to mention 6 MP3 CDs = over 60 hours of music. Plus you can buy an $85 CAN Bus adapter which will let you control your iPod / iPhone remotely WITH the OEM head unit buttons and display, plus aftermarket head units royally screw up the look and feel of your entire interior... different colors, trims, bezels, buttons - it's gross.

Just leave it (or if you've got a 500, upgrade to the 1k) it's worth it on many levels.
