It's a common "problem". Not sure if there is really any easy cure for it. I never notice it except on a real hot day if I don't have the AC turned on.

Glad someone mentioned this... I've noticed it before and thought I was imagining it.

I notice it too and it pisses me off, I usually roll up the windows and turn on the AC to tolerate it.

The driver side cats are right below our feet. Those suckers get HOT... I would know as I gave myself a nice silver dollar-sized burn when I changed my oil recently. Instant burn, instant blistering...it resembled some horrific skin disease, like leprosy or something. I don't know how hot it was exactly, but I couldn't jerk away fast enough...

Anyway...somehow all that heat makes its way into the footwells. Some combination of having the driver window down and the passenger window 1/3-1/2 open or vice versa seems to help...it's imprecise, and I'm not positive on the configuration, but there's almost a magic combination that whisks away all that hot air from the footwells up and out of the car.

You could also try turning the footwell fans on (no A/C to save gas) and see if that helps when used in conjunction with lowered windows...

08 GT here, had this problem as well. Feels like the heaters rolling down there on my legs. Doesn't help that i like to drive with the windows down all the time and the air blowing in is super hot as well. =/

Does removing cats by any chance or high flo cats help this situation any?

check the rubber gromet that is under the dash on the drivers side, where the wiring harness passes through the firewall. I too had the same problem and found that the gromet wasn't seated properly. In fact, mine was just hanging inside the cabin and i could see throught the firewall. I popped it back in and no more hot air.

Very common and its amplified when you have a black car too! Dynamat or other insulation in addition to what is there already will help
