NEED HELP!!!!
Alright I finally got a new rim for my car, and the tire was still good.
(https://mustangforums.com/m_585298/tm.htm MY ORIGINAL POST)
After I put a new rim on I noticed that the drivers side, the side I curbed when I got cut off, stuck in farther, and the passenger side stuck out. I went to get it aligned and the guy at the shop said I had a "bent pan hard bar." Everyone he had seen has been straight, but this is the first 2005 he has seen so wasn't sure. Can some one look under their car and tell me if their is straight or bent? I have included pics showing the bar he was talking about and the wheels sticking out.
Is it safe to drive it like this? I have been using my friends Jeep until I got my new rim.
I was thinking of getting an aftermarket since I seriously doubt the Warranty is going to cover this. Do they make them, or if it is not called a pan hard bar, what would be another name for this?

It is bent go to http://www.bmrfabrication.com/05Must...Rods-Large.jpg and you can get an ajustable one if you ever lower your car it will work great.
Those are pretty nice. How easy is it to change out the bar in the driveway? I have the jack, jackstands and tools, just no lift.
What other damage should I look for? Like I said I have already replaced the rim. I looked in the wheel well, and under the car and didn't see anything out of place but the bent up panhard bar.

You can change them out real easy two bolts hold them in place with a plastic cover over the bolts.Only thing you should do is change the grease fitting on the drivers side to a 90 degree grease fitting instead of a straight that comes with the panhard rod because you can't get the grease gun to fit in properly. After you install it let the car back down on the ground drop a plumb bob down from the side of wheel well measure top of rim and adjust panhard rod till both sides of rear tires are equal then lock it down.I would also consider getting another alignment

Yeah tell me about it. Those curbs would be no problem if people wouldn't cut me off. I should have let him hit me, and then his insurance would be paying for all this crap instead of me.
biged3...
Is it safe?
Well... if you keep your car a generally low speeds... and nothing is "broken".. it will NOT cause you to wreck.. (KEEP HER UNDER 100)
However.. you will be doing what they call "Dog Legging" down the road which will effect the overall handeling of the car - The "lack of control" will increas as your speed does, so be careful. (Watch a dog run and you will see what I am talking about!)
The rest of the rear suspension has some given designed in parameters of flexability so you should be good with the rest of the parts.
Driving with the bent rod for a short period should not hurt any other componants of your car, but.. a YEAR is NOT a short time!

I used to have a Ford F150 4X4 which I creek raced. I was constantly bending stuff. so I have learned what parts you can or can't drive with when bent or broken.
FYI:.. you can NOT drive WITHOUT a panhard rod... LOL... freakin car will go everywhere but where you want it to.
