For any of you insurance guys out there why is my 05 Mustang GT CHEAPER than the 04 Honda Civic my wife just bought? I was blown away when I found this out. Same coverage same liability same driving record WTF!

Maybe insurance companies finally figured it out... women suck at driving.

I mean what?

At the risk of sounding completely SANE I agree with you but I mean really? I owe more, mines worth more and it's a V-8! Personally I know I drive better than my wife by a long shot. But neither one of us has a driving record. The onlything I can think of is the Mustang has the premium package with the advanced security and srs system.

Smile Happy about it.

I just got my first stang (06 GT). I happily found out the same thing you noticed. It is cheaper to insure than my 02 Accord. Sweet!

it's cheaper because mustangs aren't on the top 10 stolen car lists I just replaced my stolen S2000 with my 09 GT and my insurance went down by a little.

That is true, a couple different Honda models are on the top ten list of most stolen... go figure.

My 2004 Honda Accord V-6 was about $40 more every 6 months than my 2004 Mustang gt. Kinda weird how that works...lol.

I dont think mustang is really classified as a sports car. and it aint something kids have and crash around from street racing. The demographic of people that purchase it plays a part. Everyone buys mustangs. Not just teens.

Yeah, I just purchased my v6 and swaped the insurance over from my Protege'5. I moved from MD to VA also, and have 8 points on my license. The insurance went from about 160 a month to under 100 lol.

I found that funny as well, my 10 year old GTP (traded for stang) was exactly the same insurance as my brand new Mustang, though that was funny and I don't see a lot of teens driving GTPs either so IDK.
