You're right, the rear is easy but if you realize you need to cut the front after installation it is a lot more involved. I am not sure if the OPer is referring to the front or rear bumpstops...but most of the time it's the front that requires cutting.

OPer: How much are they asking you to cut off?

I don't have the instructions in front of me, but I believe the instructions said to cut them in half... cut at the 2nd rib on the bump stop.

That makes no sense then...my drop is lower and I only had to cut 1/4" off the front and none on the back. You shouldn't have to cut anything with your drop...I would call the company that sold them to you.

If I were you I would just go ahead and install them without cutting the bumpstops at all .

That's what I'm thinking I'm gonna do. My buddy has the same Saleen shocks/struts but has H&R springs and he didn't cut his down any... and his car rides just fine.

If I find that I need to make some adjustments, I can always do that at a later date.

I think the real answer to my questions lies in what Saleen does with the bump stops on stock GTs that they convert to the S281 model... replace them or cut them.

But like I said earlier...

Default to cut or not to cut

On my 09' GT/CS, I just installed FRPP (Eibach) "P" springs=1"drop along with Steeda shock/strut combo. First thing..on the rear the progressive coils are stacked so in essence all the suspension travel is in the wider spaced coils which leaves a little "bouncy" ride from the rear, by "bouncy" I mean it doesn't feel like it has a smooth travel, but rather abrubt movements. I think the abrutness is the bumpstops hitting the frame which only has clearance of about and 1". Let me mention that I got the bumstops from Ford which were supposed to be matched to the springs although they appear to be the same height as the stock ones. I'm going to cut the stock rear ones to see what it changes before I alter the new ones. FYI the drop is exactly and 1" in the rear and less in the front, which seems to have smoother suspension travel.
