Mustang to Minivan to Mustang (not on purpose)
I had to take my Mustang in to get the popping struts fixed, and the rental company set me up with a yummy Chrysler minivan complete with trash on the floor and dash, a cupholder I wouldn't touch with tongs and a V6 that makes a PT Cruiser look like a cowl induction Chevelle SS. This can be boiled down into one observation: When I drive the Mustang and look around I see people's faces. When I drove the minivan and looked around I saw the sides of people's heads. I did not realize how much attention the Mustang got until driving this zero minivan for a day. I felt like the Forgotten One! I think a month of driving something like that and I'd grow a pot belly, bald head and crabby disposition. I was SO GLAD to get back into my Mustang, home sweet home! Man, I hope nothing else goes wrong with my 'stang. And I surely hope it won't take longer than a day to fix if it does!

What? No Pics?
I know the feeling, as when my GT was in for stripes they loaned me a new Focus. I tore the he!! out of it, including doing an e-brake 180 when I picked up a friend.
Funny thing was it was also Sceaming Yellow...

I know what you mean by people looking at the car - I drove my wife's car yesterday (Renault, urghh!) and I had nobody look at the car - I had so got used to people staring at the GT that I was kinda expecting it I guess

LOL! Glad to hear I'm not the only one that has suffered this fate

ARGH! That's a GREAT idea, and my camera was right there with me because I was out on a job site that morning! I really should have taken a picture of that cupholder, descriptions don't do it justice. The thing only had 8k miles on it too. My wife does not take great care of her cars, but even after 100k her last car looked tons better than this rental did.
Can you imagine >>buying<< an ex-rental car? I guess some people really could care less about what they drive

At least the Jeep is a real car. Driving the Focus is like driving an enclosed golf cart. It looks like a replacement for a spare tire, just throw it in the trunk of your real car until needed.

Bwaahaaa! Maybe it's like the Jetson's, you just need to push the right button and it transforms from its current mode (suitcase) into a real car
I forgot to mention the strut popping is gone now- woohoo! Seems tighter on the steering now too.
