Default Auto guys w/ aftermarket converters come on in

I know this has been discussed before, but I wanted to get some fresh opinions. A high speed stall is gong to be my next mod. There is a pretty big price difference between TCI and Precision Industries (which most people say is the best).

So, what converter are you running? Any issues or regrets? Also, I was quoted an install price of $375 from a well known shop. How does that sound?

Thanks!

Do you plan on supercharging the car? How high a stall are you looking at? I had other work done when I had mine installed, but $375 seems pretty fair...

If you are getting FI then a triple plate would be good. If you are not, it would still be good but maybe not necessary. I run a billett converter from Level 10 with 3000 stall and it ran about 1100 for the converter. Not a part you want to "cheap out" on either.

$375 is about right....for your color of car, lol!

I recently had one put in for around that price.

I'd go with Precision. Haven't heard good things about the TCI converters.

Pony up the extra for the PI converter you will be glad you did. The install price is very reasonable. If you are going to stay N/A I would recommend a 3500 stall but if you are going TS FI in the future then stay around 3000 for the stall.

Anyone running the TCI converter? If so, any issues?

I'd also like to hear from more people that actually have them.. A company that actually sells them told me not to bother with torque converters on these cars..
