Default A Series of Unfortunate Events?

Well...took out my GT today for movies and burgers with my girl, and got some curbrash already. I was pulling out of an EXTREMELY small parking lot, and I somehow rubbed against the concrete on my left front wheel. Ouch...it sounded nasty...nothing too bad, and it doesn't even show, but I know its there [X(]

Anyway...Next thing, as im driving, i notice the car shifting wierdly when i let off the gas (I have A/T). Overdrive off, it would not go into 5th for a second, then with a clunk (as if i shifted in a stickshift) it would shift up. Is this normal to hear the car's mechanics/shifting rarely?

To add to my bad night, I got onto a steep road and parked to enjoy a nice sunset [8D] ...after we finished, I put the car into what i thought was DRIVE, which I accidentally put into NEUTRAL. The car rolled back about 2 feet...and I shifted into DRIVE ([sm=badidea.gif] ) while the car was rolling backwards!!! MY CAR ENGINE TURNED OFF!!! [sm=rant.gif]
Is this normal? Is it a safety feature to not screw the transmission? Is my car okay? [sm=feedback.gif]

Well, I have a M/T, so I can't help ya out on the transmission questions. If it makes ya feel better though, I can confirm that curbs are bad. You should try to avoid those

With overdrive OFF how canit shift into 5th?
When you press the button on the right hand side of the shifter an in dash light will say that O/D is off.
If it's shifting into 5th there must be a problem.

Sry guys, I mean O/D is on. It feels, like most cars when you play with the throttle a little, it hesitates to shift up, like mine did. My issue is whether or not that sound I heard was something i should look into or not.

I have 1300 miles, and this "clunk" has only happened a couple times so far. I am 90% sure its nothing to think about, but I wanted to ask you all...

sounds like you're changing throttle position. When you move your right foot you can fool the computer control for the Auto. Try it with your foot in just one position, giving it just a steady stream of gas. I know that if I were to take off at full trottle and then quickly back off, there can be a pause in the shifting and the revs will stay up for a moment.
Until American manufacturers get their act together and give us triptronic, expect more of this.

Curb rash on the car too bad but its bound to happen sooner or later.

Clunking sound in the AT - not too good. maybe there are some loose bolts you should have that checked out.

Engine off when the car is rolling in opposite direction most likely a protection/safety feature.
