Default need catback replacement

i am about ready to trash my pipes midmuffler setup. the tips shifted and now are rubbing against the rear bumper and causing it to melt. it makes more chirping noise than ever. the issues is, i cannot do just a axelback because of the midmuffler setup, i would have a big gap. what would my best route be? get a axel back and get a shop to weld in some pipes in place of the current mufflers or go to another midmuffler setup? i know exhaust issue has been beat to death, but what are my options. its been a while since i have been on here. thanks all

Are the m-80's welded in? If not welding it may be worth giving it a shot. If your set on taking them off i don't see why a pipe to fill in the void of the m-80 wouldn't work, just make sure its welded strong so that doesn't wiggle free or leak.

nothing is welded on the exhaust system. im not sure where the squeeling noise and chirping is comming from exactly, i have tried to trace it, but cannot find the exact point

Ive pushed the exhaust backwards before to had the exhaust tips stick out more, i found that the axle back hangers where rubing the brackets and had a "cricket" nosie. I was looking in to the MM system, i wouldnt rely on the clamps. Id clamp it where it fits and then i would weld it. you may want to look in to that if you like the sound of the exhaust, may be a better solution than to trash it. I know that the clearences are tighter with the placements of the m-80s so it could be from there. Check the hangers in relations to the brackets for the AB.
