Default Problems with roush louvers...

So Happy 4th of July to everyone first of all.

So far today ive found my drivers side louver laying in the driveway. The adhesive tape just melted off of the brackets... and it's not like im in texas or something, its NC its only been around 90. Idk how to keep these damn things on. They have never fit just right, I've taken them off once before to completely replace all of the tape in an effort to get them to stop shaking when im driving. So they really wont stay on with this crappy tape, now i have scratches in the outline of the piece from not having a proper fitment. Has anybody else had a problem with these pieces? I dont want to get rid of them because i like the way they look but it seems like everything is held on with that crappy tape so it would just end up with the same problems.

I live in Miami where we hit 100 more often than not and have rain and humidity and all sorts of other hellish weather. Just make sure the surface is cleaned with alcohol and then apply 3M AUTOMOTIVE TAPE. Apply it to all the points on the mounting brackets that touch the car, then push them down firmly and DO NOT put the louvers on for at least 4 hours. At this point, mount the louvers on and you should be home free. I did this exactly and over a year and a half later, with quite a few 120mph+ adventures, I still have waited for those things to even think about falling off

Ok so youre saying that i need to clean it off then wait 4 hours or clean it off let it dry good, then mount the brackets then wait 4 hours to screw down the louvers? Are there any alternatives to 3m tape?

Hi
I'm in the UK.........no heat issues here!!!.
I had the same problem with mine a few months ago but I did exactly as Antonio1988 says but in addition I used "adhesive promoter" just prior to putting the mounting brackets on. They have been solid ever since.

Also don't tighten up the little setscrew bolts too much, just nip them up and a fraction more

why do you want an alternative to 3m automotive tape? If your not using that, then thats probbably why yours have fallen off. 3m tape is what ford uses on their emblems, spoliers, side scoops, etc. If you put 3m tape on rigth there is no way its coming off and i live in San Antonio Texas. Over 105 everyday here in the summer

When I mounted my lovers I did it on a Saturday afternoon and then didn't drive the car until Monday morning. It takes at least 24 hours for the 3M adhesive to bond and cure fully. You may want to use an adhesion promoter too.

I got them from RPI back in the winter. I'm gonna try and prep the area better this time, I used rubbing alcohol both times i did it but I'll probably let the surface sit for awhile. An adhesive promoter is a good idea, maybe i can go up and grab some from advanced autoparts. The only thing im worried about is getting them in the exact place they should be... I dont have the CAD drawing they sent with them anymore and when I attached them again last time i 2 of the brackets to work from.

Thanks for the tips guys...

3M TAPE PRIMER ADHESION PROMOTER 94 IS THE ANSWER.
TRY E-BAY MOTORS.
