I have 4 10, stock 17" tires, lca, relo and I can light up 1st, 2nd and chirp 3rd pretty hard, othe rmods are cai, tune, udps, cmcv, sts. All depends on the weather for me also I dont even try to do it in the fla summer heat anymore, even though it wil stil light up 1st and 2nd the 3rd chirp is hard to come by and it is depressing how the heat kills the car but in winter time nice cool air the car is all over the road.

I could probably break the tires loose in 2nd gear if I wanted to sidestep the clutch. But rolling along, while already in gear, and then stabbing the throttle? No spin.

Maybe you just have some really sticky stock tires!! lol
I'm stock with 3.31's and i can usually spin the tires if i punch it in first at around 3k enough that the TC light comes on!! I also can chirp second pretty good too!! My tires are the stock pirelli's with about 14k on them with normal tire wear!!
I'm also at about 4300 ft so like i said you must have some great tires!!
Who cares if you don't spin since thats a good thing as long as it doesn't feel slower than your 3.55's i think you'll be good!!

He watches O'Reilly too much...
He's in a "no spin" zone now.

Riptide, no enough horses to break 'em lose from a roll without the help of the clutch.
Only in first gear at the right rpm...

Not sure if this matters to much but I know that tire pressure can make a difference in whether or not the tires spin easily or not. Op...what is your tire pressure at? Maybe add a little more air to make them a little harder might allow the tires to spin a little easier I think.....

I think most people who post about roasting their tires are popping the clutch. I never used to get a 2nd gear chirp until i stayed planted in the gas and popped the clutch. Yes, anyone can light up the tires from a roll popping the clutch, but his question is "Can you let the clutch out in first gear and start going then by only using the gas, break the tires loose?" Even in a little 4 banger, you can break the tires loose popping the clutch. It also depends if you are going straight or not. If your wheel is turned even slightly, she will break loose a lot easier.

+1 jahudso2

That is exactly what I'm talking about. Car is already in gear and rolling, forget the clutch, just stabbing the throttle.

PSI of tires is 32.
