sorry to say this again but I saw somone else ask it and never saw a answer. You are turning your TCS off right? so the light stays lit when you try it.

Brenspeed. I get 18mpg in town and hardly ever drive on the interstate..

As of this morning I now have different tires on the car. So it's even less likely to break loose one would hope. So I can't go back and (easily) test with the pirellis again..

Not really sure what to think about why the car wouldn't break loose after 7 pages worth of responses. Mixed experiences abound apparently. Some people it's no problem. And there were a couple others like me who couldn't break them loose from a roll.

Who knows.

Try it in a McDonald's parking lot. They have that dark, slick pavement.

I'm right there with you, man. I'm running 255/45/18 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires. I have BBK shorties, Bassani exhaust, Brenspeed 93 tune, and 4.10 gears. If I let the car start rolling with only idle speed rpms and then punch it, it will accelerate like crazy, but it will not break the tires loose.....unless maybe it's wet pavement or extra smooth pavement.

.......AND.....even if the tires do break loose, it doesn't happen immediately. Our cars just don't have low end torque like that.

There's no replacement for displacement.

I have an auto but before I put my DRs on If i floored mine from a dead stop it would roll about 10ft before it lit them up, then it would burn thru 1st, thru 2nd then hook up when it hit 3rd and that was stock 3.31s and before any tune. I now have 3.73s and a 93 bama race tune, i didnt really play with it too much before the DRs but just rolling on the throttle to wot it would just barely try to spin then bark the hell out of 2nd. With the DRs i have to really try hard to spin them if they are warm at all and just bark 2nd.

lol....

its hard for a car to roll off the line, punch it at 2k rpm and explode the tires into a fury of smoke.
when i had my 470rwhp/462rwtq 96' mustang with 3:73s and nitto 305 drag radials my car only started spinning at the top of 1st if i would get off the line on a roll.

I did have a centri blower on her though, I am sure if i had a positive displament blower with a lot more bottom end torque it would have been a different story.

I have driven a stock 08' Z06 and not even that car spins its tires off a 1st gear roll.

Rev it a bit and dump the clutch and its a different story.

If you would like to spin your tires easily stick with your gears, but try and get at least 400rwtq@2500rpm.
