Default 2005 mustang v6 voltage gauge problem

Ijust bought a 2005 v6 coupe with 18000 mi. I thought i got a great deal, but 3 days later the voltage gauge reads high. ichecked the votage at the battery with the car running abd it read 14.5 volts. This is an intermitant problem. It seems to happen more in the morning. I have only hadthe car a week so I have not figured out any other pattern to it. Any info would be great. Thanks, Gary

I have the some gauge problem with my car. In my situation it reads high, low normal or sometimes it doesn't even move. There isn't anything wrong with my voltage though so maybe there isn't on yours either?

The voltage guage is a convience item and not as accurate as a $800 Fluke DMM.
Its like the oil pressure guage that only shows that some pressure is present, not
the actual pressure. Its an idiot light guage of sorts.
My MSD DashHawk shows battery voltage to the hundreths of a volt.
I didnt get the IUP guages just becasue they were mickey mouse in function.
They look good but beyond that......
