I am fearing the gear!
Unfortunately, I am fearing the gear! If anyone lives in the Kansas City area and has 4.10 or 3.73 send me a pm, cause I need someone to give me a ride around the block or so. I have an 09 gt auto and I just hate to spend that kind of money and then regret it.

What would you fear about it?
I would get 3.73s in your auto, at least thats what most people say. I have 4.10s in my manual and I love them. Lost maybe 2mpg on the freeway but I dont drive the car that often for it to really matter since I have a DD.
As far as acceleration goes they make it a lot better off the line and even on the freeway, you can get going a lot faster.

Don't fear the gear!
If you are though, with 3.73's you have nothing to worry about, except that it won't be as big of an improvement as you were expecting. I have 4.10's in my auto and I am in love with them. 1st gear is insane when it hooks and chirping 4th gear is epic win. Only time they suck is going 80-90 mph for long periods of time, which I don't do very often.
I would definitely give you a ride if I was in your area!

Doing the calcs a 3.73 in an auto is very close to 4.10 with manual at highway RPMs. I think it's closer to 3.90 in a manual but since FRPP doesn't make those I really don't count them.
I'm pretty sure I'll do 3.73s. I don't like the idea of nearly 2700 RPM at 70 which I do a lot of. Right now I'm just a hair over 2K at 70 so that would be a jump bigger than I want.
The Bullitt comes with 3.73's. You could go test drive one of those.

Very high RPMs. Which means worse highway MPG (if you care) and louder sound (which might get annoying after a while or annoy a passenger). It'll sound like you're more than ready to shift, yet you're already in 5th.

70-75 is not a problem at all, but once I get 80 and above the noise starts getting annoying. I only go long distances on the interstate once every 2 months though, so the 4.10's are worth it to me. I have gotten several good kills because I can get through 1-3 very quickly. 4.10's + auto = easily out-launch most everyone on the street that isn't AWD and doesn't have DR's.
Here's a video I madeThe video really doesn't justify how loud it is, but it doesn't get annoying until you've been driving for awhile above 80. Though this is all solved with a push of the radio button, so it's not a big deal if you like listening to music loudly.
