Mine will go crazy on aggressive driving and do this. But the gauge goes down as well, but will creep up back to normal very slowly.

 

if you ever do donuts or a lil drift drift itll throw the fuel about and knock up the sensor mine does it all the time, i wouldnt worry about it just go of your gallons used one, i just reset that every time i fill up along with the trip mileage
