Default Car Cover

Does anyone use a car cover for their 2010? Ford Accessories has one for around $360 but don't know if there is anything better. Sadly I do not have a garage and this is my weekend cruiser.

Thanks,
Terry

that might not be a fair price.

Shop around at the many Mustang sites. For outdoors you should expect to pay more than $150, and more likely more than $200. Be sure to get a lock for the cable. I use my cover most of the time at home (I'm in a car port off the alley in an urban area) and I really feel it has kept my car from being messed with, by both people and furry animals!

American Muscle has some for about $150, I also looked on California Car Covers website last night, they have a ton of different ones for about $200 on up. I think I may be ordering one soon myself.

I bought a Quick Silver Car Cover through Costco Online and was not happy with it. It was too thin for out door use. The wind blew it around too much and I notice tears in the fabric. So I went to www.Autoanything.com and ordered an Evolution 4 Car cover for $191.95. It has a 4 year warranty and so far, I am very pleased with it. It is thicker than the older one I had and it takes a lot of wind to move it around. Unfortunately, my garage is full so my Pony has to sit outside until this fall when I get another garage built.
A car cover like this would help prevent dings and dents if you have to drive your car to work, as well as keeping the sun from fading and birds from bombing your car.

I would advise not to cut out a hole for your antenna. Just unscrew it and stick it in your truck. Also before you use your car cover, wipe your car down good. I use a California Duster every time I go to put my car cover on. If you don't you could get debris in the fabric thus causing unwanted scratches in your paint. It may sound like it's time consuming, but it's time well spent.

As an extra mod, I cut a stencil of a Mustang and used fabric paint to make a logo on my cover. Whatever you do, do not use regular spray paint.

Just curious, but why not keep the antenna on?

I know the stock antenna is high, but a shorty antenna works fine and is the first thing you put the cover over. I keep my antenna tight, so would not advise anyone to have a loose antenna and keep having to take it off. I tried to make the whole putting on/taking off process as quick as possible.

Since the car has to stay outside for now, I didn't want to cut a hole in the cover fabric. It does come with a piece that adheres on the cover just for your antenna, but I didn't want to take a chance of any water seeping through the hole.

With my old '82 GT, I had the same cover with a hole and had that problem with water draining down the antenna hole.

If you plan on using your cover for indoor use only, then you have nothing to worry about.

As far as the process of taking it off, takes very little time. I do fold both sides up, then roll it from the back to the front. It makes putting it back on so much easier.

I recently picked up an indoor/outdoor cover from AM on sale for about $69 but I'm using it strictly indoors more for dust and people protection. I have to say that it would suffice for some light outdoor duty but for my particular use indoors, it's a very nice cover.

I'm sure you'll find something that'll work well for you. Good luck.

Ended up buying a weathershield HP from covercraft. They are pricey but you get what you pay for.

They have some decent ones from empire. their website has a computer generation tool so you can see what the cover looks like on and off the car pretty cool.
