Default ? about next mod

I was thinking of doing some hot rod cams. But i have some questions first. Would it be better do the cams first or do some gears first. Can cams be used on a daily driver? I was also looking at videos of cams and all i see is people that have cams also have long tubes. Is there a reason for this? or just personal taste. Thanks Any other info that will help would be apreciated!!!

Hey Topless...You will absolutely love the HotRod Cams for your Daily Driver, but in my opinion do your mods in this order..... 4:10 gears , Long tubes, and then Cams.. and oh ya, don't forget you'll now need a dyno tune !! FRPP Cams without long tubes typically doesn't give you as much of a horsepower increase...

Better how? Gears give more bang for the buck, if you're reasonably good at shifting more often they can give you 23% more horsepower to the wheels compared to cams but they don't change the sound of the car.

People do longtubes and cams because they are exhaust junkies. Longtubes and cams are slightly less cost effective than other mods. Not the worst by a longshot but people often do just headers and cams and call it a day with a tune.

i wasnt looking to get longtubes though. Do i have to get them if i do cams? Is it a must? I like how my car sounds now and the sound of the cam would just make it sound awesome. (i think) i'm sure eventually i would get longtubes just dont want them right now.
I guess ill get the gears for now then till i get some more money saved up.
Another question if i get 4.10's and keep my stock 17" rims what size tire can i get to tone that down to a 3.90? or is it that even possible for stockers? Thanks for all the answers guys!!!

I would recommend doing the LT's if you want cams, but you don't have to. Just gives you more performance for the money. If you take the time to select the right LT's you could enhance the sound of your exhaust.
