I have to decide whether to buy a 2005 or order a 2006. All things being equal, which year would you choose and why? The only thing that attracts me more to a 2005 is the fact that I really like mineral grey paint. The 2006 will have a new tungsten grey, and I don't have to have the car now, and I can wait a few months.

What do you think?

Because it is the first year...

 

06...b/c Ford will have worked out some of the bugs that the 05's had..

 

+1. That's why I dumped my '03 GT.

 

By now, most of the new model bugs have been worked out. The 06 should have a better resale value initially, but I think the 05 will be more of a collector's item. During the 06 model year they will probably build a lot more car then in 05, so that will make the 05 even more desirable in the long run.

I plan on keeping my car for quite a while, thus I'm glad I went for an '05

 

05 for me... becuase I couldn't wait a few more months. [8D]

 

If you can find an 05, buy it. I just bought one last weekend after searching for a month trying to track down a GT with the packages I wanted.

Its a coin toss, they are much of a muchness. If the exact 05 showed up tomorrow, I would buy it (provided the price was right). But so far none has so I ordered a 06. Perhaps that is what you should do. Order what you want now and cancel if a 05 shows up with the right price and specs.

 

06... gives Ford a chance to work out the kinks of the first model...

and.....

The rims are going to be much much better

 

06, in the near future the 06's will have better resale value, many years from now the 05's might be higher. And as said before the kinks should be mostly gone, and we all know what a PITA getting warranty work done can be.
