The 3.73 gear is only available in the Manual tranny along with the trackpack, not in the auto tranny. The trackpack comes with stiffer shocks and springs as well as bigger brakes..

The 15hp can be gained on an 05-09 gt with an aftermarket CAI/Tune. There is also a Ford dealership that is working on putting together a trackpack for the 05-09 derived from the '10+ parts. So...aside from the body style, everything the 2010 has can be put on the 05-09. Minus the fugly rear on the 2010

Except for the interior; it's a lot better in the '10.

I've owned a 2006 GT convertible, 2008 GT Coupe, and now own a 2010 GT Coupe. The 2010 is light years better than the 05-09s. It is quieter and there is much less gear noise from the transmission, less vibrations and whine from the rear end, and less tire noise. The interior materials are of much higher quality and have better fit and finish. Another bonus is no interior rattles, every 05-09 I've ever driven in rattled since new. The steering seems much quicker with 19s and the handling is much improved. I used to have a lot of problems with the 08 going around corners and having the rear end kick out. I haven't had that problem once with the 2010 yet. The only minor quibbles I have with the 2010 are that the rear end takes some getting used to, I think the exhaust is a little too quiet in the car, and I think the sound induction tube from the engine is lame and don't care for the sounds it makes. After owning the 2010 for a few months now you couldn't pay me enough money to go back to an 05-09. Just my opinion...

The rear on the 2010 is so much of a turn off, you couldn't pay enough to buy one... I like the stance from the front, side, and 3/4 front view but anything involving that rear is just emasculating.

First let me state that I own an 07 and NOT a 2010.
I too was very skeptical when I saw the first pictures. However, after seeing several in person and driving one, it has definitely grown on me. The front and sides look amazing (finally has hips) and I've actually gotten used to the rear, it's just different.
I have an 07 but am going to wait until 2011 to pick up a new one. Most of the people on this forum who have an 05-09 are going to say that their 05-09 is a much better car. I would say just go drive one and see for yourself. It drives like a much better car and has the interior to go with it. (And remember, this is coming from someone who does NOT own one.)
And of course you are going to have people say that while the 2010 has 15 more hp you can just modify the 2005-09 to have the same amount of hp. I HATE this argument.
The same argument could be made to someone who is deciding between a mustang and a vette, or ANY two cars for that matter. It's a ridiculous argument that never ends.

I wouldnt expect it any other way. When you updated and improve, you need to do exactly those things. Change is always good, but as always, when there is a change, many react (reject) the more visible part of it. I like the way the new one looks but still love the way mine looks. I do not doubt that it is far superior mechanically and technically than my 06, but my 06 drives and behaves just fine for what I need it to do.
