How do you launch your car?

I let the clutch out until I feel it engage (also keeps the car from rolling back), rev to 2200-2400 and drop it. Best run so far is 14.14 (5200 feet above sea level) which converts to about a 13.7 altitude adjusted. My roomate with 275 width rear tires dump a couple 100 rpms higher.
A guy in our club has DRs, line lock and electric launch control and currently has it set at 4400 rpm. It's a thing of beauty to see him launch at those rpms.

Getting a good launch on the stock pirelli's is like taking chocolate cake to a Jenny Craig meeting and trying to leave with leftovers... Possible, but very tricky.
If the track is prepped good and sticky, air the rear tires down to about 22 psi and the fronts up to 34, keep the RPM's at a solid 2500 and VERY quickly slip (but not dump) the clutch. You chould get a slight bit of wheel spin for a couple of feet (and I do mean only a couple... if your still hearing tire squeal after the rear tires pass the beam, your too hard) and then nothing but solid pulling. I usually managed a mid 1.9x to very low 2.0x doing this.
Thats a good place to start, and then play with tire pressure and RPM from there. Keep in mind, track prep, tire temp, and track temp will all effect this, so you may hafta tweak each time you go to the track. I keep a log book to help me keep it straight. Also talk to the more experienced guys with the track... ask them how the track is prepped and how it's hooking. The local guys who race there every weekend will usually be able to give ya good info, and for the cost of a beer (or a coffee in my case) will gladly give ya tips for that specific track.
I also recommend, just once you leave at 5000 rpms, and once just like you would at a normal traffic light... just to feel the extreme's.
Last piece of advice on a good launch: Leave your buddies at home on the nights you just wanna practice launches. If your trying something new, but your worried about your buddies raggin on you about a 2.3 60' time, your more likely to screw it up.

My launch depends greatly on the track. If it's street legal with no track prep, I launch around 3200. I do a 4-6 second burnout (line locks, 2nd gear) and roll to the line. If the track is really sticky I will floor it when the other guy finishes staging. This makes it go off of the 2 step usually around 3600 rpms bulding 2-3 psi. If the track is not sticky then a lower rpm launch and I hit the 2 step when the first bulb comes on.
I let the clutch out on the last yellow and try to pause at the top of the clutch to get it to slip a little.

It shocks me to hear people launching their car by dumping the clutch. What kind of 60' times are you getting doing that?
I've PM'd some people here that have good times on stock tires with manuals and they always rev up and slip the clutch. None of them dump it.
