Default 2008 GT with Roush SC?

http://nh.craigslist.org/ctd/1287034339.html

What do you think? How does the SC affect engine and transmission longevity?

Also, how does insurance handle it? It's a significant aftermarket add on, so if I totaled the car I'm not sure how I'd get my money back.

I have an appointment to test drive the car on Wednesday. Found some local GTs for about $3K less, without the SC.

thanks!

Roots/twin screw supercharger is harder one the clutch and things like that because they make more torque but these clutches should last a while and the trans is good for like 500hp or so. Its got such low mileage that the only thing I would worry about is a bad tune but I am guessing it has the stock roush tune?

Not a big fan of the Roush SC. You will have to ask your insurance agent to answer the insurance question, but my mods did not raise my insurance at all they just told me to kepp receipts in case any thing happened to it.

As for longevity of motor and trans, depends on your tune, how you drive,.... I got almost 40k on mine. 3rd rearend, 3rd clutch, but I go to the track alot.

Price seems a little high to me.

yeah, that price seems a bit high. You should be able to get a similarly equipped stock GT with those miles for less than 17-19k giving you enough to add whatever supercharger you want.

The GTs up here are running 21-22K. I have not found one cheaper. I guess its a strange market. But, up here in New England things cost a lot more.

I've been checking out EBay, but unsure I would want to buy a car and have it shipped. Not sure I'd save any $$.

Wonder if Ford would replace those parts if I got an extended warranty? Or do they consider them "normal wear and tear items?"
