You don't need any special tools to get the fuel filter off. You only need a couple of sockets to take the panel off and then to take the rubber mount off of the filter. the connectors on the fuel lines to the filter can be either removed by hand or with a screwdriver.

Mustangs can heal themselves. It's probably all better by now.

It's very possible you did no damage. Remove that black piece of plastic and look at the fuel filter. You have have put a hole in it or you may have just pushed on the connections enough to cause a temporary leak. It uses simple push/lock connections and if you were to push up on them, they could leak.

Turn the key to on and watch for fuel leaking, that will tell you. The fuel pump will turn on and pressurize the system. If it's leaking, just turn the key off.

Replacing the fuel filter is easy. You see the bolt in your picture? That's holding down the bracket that secures the fuel filter.

From the thread title I thought you had jacked from the pumpkin and boggered up the cover seal.

+1 on leak from filter, filter connections and/or fuel lines pinched. That can be a real killer on fuel economy IF you drive it much.

I think that still applies to the 4.6.

This might be a little off-topic but why is it bad to jack the car up from the pumpkin?

Because you can bust the seal on the differential cover if you aren't careful. That's the main issue. Some people claim you can introduce a bend into the axle as well.

FWIW people have jacked up rear ends by the pumpkin for years and if you're careful you should be fine.

UPDATE:
This morning I turned the key... no fuel leaking out, so I fired it up. Took it to Supertune and they said I probably just engaged some mechanism on the fuel filter and it seems to be running fine...
