Oil change AFTER break-in mileage

Oil change AFTER break-in mileage
It was suggested to me to change the oil in the car after the break-in mileage was completed. Well, i have now put 501 miles on the car. Should I change the oil or wait for the 3k interval I normally use?

Every new car that I have had has had an oil/filter change around the first 6-7 hundred miles...it's cheap insurance. Expect the original oil filter to give you a little bit of trouble, be sure to have a pair of oil filter grip pliers on hand, you may need it. I've heard that there is a small panel (with about 6 bolts...5.5mm) to remove in order to access the drain plug and oil filter.
Let us know how it goes.

But I did my first oil change at 2k.
Bottom line, if it gives you peace of mind....change it!

I would do the first change at 1K and then every 3K miles thereafter. If your oil looks dirty/dark before 1K, then change it. Of course, use quality oil and a good filter.
PS . I saw a 2010 Grabber Blue GT with white over the top (wide) stripes and it looked awesome. It also had the upgrade interior with the blue stripe, again looked great.
