Default Caliper cover upgrades?

I am thinking about adding red caliper covers to my Apple Candy '10 GT. I am a little reluctant to change original calipers so I found red caliper covers ($189 for set of 4). Installation looks easy and it does not change almost anything to the original calipers. Does anyone have any comments on that? I found them on Mustangpartsoutlet. I think Apple Candy with red calipers would look fantastic.

I think I saw these on American Muscle's website as well..

I have a white 2010 and was thinking about the red covers also..I think they would look really sharp.

Does anyone have these?

Are you referring to the plastic caliper covers that you put over the real calipers?

I say paint the real calipers rather than putting these covers on. Anyone that knows anything about brakes will know it's a cover. IMO the real calipers look much better.

They are aluminum not plastic.
Painting would be the cheapest thing to do and I agree that real calipers would look better than covers but do you know what kind of paint to use. It has to be kind of paint used to paint home radiators but are they available in red?

They actually sell paint made specifically for your calipers, here's an example: http://www.duplicolor.com/products/caliper.html

That kit comes in 5 different colors.

Make sure you buy a good degreaser like Simple Green and scrub those puppies really well. Obviously the cleaner you can get the caliper the better the paint will stick.

Edit: I guess that kit comes with caliper cleaner but it couldn't hurt to use some degreaser on them first.
