Which Rear axle ratio?
Hello all from Germany. I am ordering a 2010 GT premium tomorrow (manual tranny) and need a little advice. I live in Stuttgart Germany and will be frequently driving this car on the autobahn. I am weighing out the pros and cons of the numerically higher 3.73 rear end vice the stock 3.31 or optional 3.55. Since I will frequently be cruising at speeds in excess of 100 MPH, I am wondering if I should stick with the standard 3.31, but at the same time I would love the 3.73 option for the awesome acceleration. I am torn on this and looking for some practical advice. I want to be able to hang with the Audi's and Benz's on the autobahn, but I do not want the motor screaming at 5 grand to do it. I foresee the occasional opportunity to cruise at 120 MPH (I do this frequently in my Volvo). Anyone know what the RPM will be for each option at say.. 120 MPH?
I can't wait to drive this car here! I am looking forward to surprising a few BMW, Audi, and MB owners.
Thx in advance.

Trey, I just left Ramstein last year and had a blast driving on the autobahn, at least whee there wasn't any construction so I know what you mean. I think you will be happy with the 3.73s as I'm sure the majority of your driving won't be at 100+. I had a 2006 civic si while I was over there and was able to move along at 140mph so I am sure the mustang will do just fine, but this is just my opinion.

Thx for the advice, I will go with the 3.73s
the 3.31 runs at or under 2k at 80. I just filled the tank -- 19.85 mpg in mixed driving, including a few, ahem, "test runs."
That's better than the 2005 Infiniti G35 and 2008 Audi A4 I used to have.
