I drive my car all winter, even when it gets below 60 degrees (which isn't too often).

I'm used to over 36 years of northern winters and I can tell you that, despite what everyone tells you and no matter HOW good a driver you are, that even IF you never wreck from winter driving that you'll have one hell of a time getting the smell out of your cherished car from when you crap yourself during all those near-misses. Do yourself a favor. Get a beater.

I drove all winter last year in Montana (with more snow than usual) with blizzaks on and the car did OK, not great but definitely serviceable if you're careful. That being said, I'm going to try find a cheap beater car/truck for this winter.

i have a beater, but when i have to go on road trips in the winter i drive the stang, and use falken ziex tires, those blizzaks and snow tires suck on the highway.

FYI, Be cautious when using your E-brake during the winter months! We had unusually cold weather (below 0 with the wind chill) down here in GA a couple years back and I could not get my car to move forward or reverse. I called the dealership and they said they had two other callers that said the same thing. They recommended that I tow my car to there shop, so they could take a look at it. I went back into the office and did a search on the Mustang forums and I found out that several people experienced the same thing I was going through. In a nutshell, the E-brake froze to my caliper, which is why I could not move my car front or reverse. So, I decided to wait until the e-brake unfroze, which was the next day around noonish. All is well and I don't use my e-brake during the winter season! =-)

Refer to TSB 06-5-4 for the parking brake issue.

Thanks Nuke!
Per the TSB, 2005/2006 Mustang owners beware of E-break freezing to the caliper.

I drive mine all winter in Calgary and I think our winters are pretty similiar although I think it gets colder is Sask. Like the first poster I use Michelin X-ice on factory rims (235/55/18). They don't use salt here so the risk of damage to the body is minimal (except for collision). I've heard of people using sandbags too which should help.

That's why in 15 years mine will be running strong as ever and still look new while yours will be a rust pile in a bone yard. But hey to each their own. If you want to subject your 'Stang to the joy of rust and erosion be my guest.
