One more spark plug question...
For those of you who have changed your plugs, did you notice any difference at all after changing them? Smoother idle, smoother overall, more power, was missing before but not after? I have 50,000 miles on my car and want to change them. But, if nobody noticed any real difference, I think I'll wait until the recommended 100,000 mile point.
MMmmmmm..bad idea to wait that long and even as long as you have waited.
I switched to the one piece champions a couple of thousand miles ago (14K miles on the car) to avoid the crap two piecers from breaking on me.
I can't say I really noticed any differences after the change but on the road (at 115f outside) when I'm cruising, I don't get the pinging like I used to when I'd goose the throttle so that is a definite improvement.
I *Think* the idle is more smooth but that's not really an objective answer.

Actually, I paid a stealership to change my plugs at 20,000 miles. I didn't check behind them. A few days later I was headed on a vacation 400 miles away and decided to check my oil before the trip. I noticed the coil over plugs had dust all over them like they hadn't been touched. I don't think the stealership changed them and I got ripped off. I confronted them about it. They said the plugs were replaced. I still don't believe them and am never taking my car back to that Ford dealership.
I'd change them out now and not worry about it in the future.
50k is more than I'd like to wait.
I waited until I was at about 35k and although none of mine broke, the dealership had some problems with them.
My advice... change them ASAP.
No difference in performance for me after, but I do now have peace of mind.
