HELP WITH SHAKER 1000
The Shaker 1000 in my 07 fried, I can get one from an 08, but Ford says the ignition switch turns on the radio in the 07, but the computer turns on the 08. I can get the wiring harness with the 08, does anybody know if there is a way to make it work. I don't have the $$ right now for an aftermarket head unit.
Thanks in advance for info.

The SmartJunctionBox controls thye Accessory Delay that powers the radio....
05s, 06es, 07s, 08s and 09s....
Same similar electrical system.
Now configuring the 'module' is another story...
Not sure where you are getting YOUR info...
But here is my source....

your dealership is telling you stuff that ain't exactly correct.
I can pull the radio from my old 2006 and it would work in my 2009 perfectly...and vice versa
could even yank the radio from my 2008 Expy and it would work 100% in my Bullitt without any issues.
The PCM in all 2005+ Fords controls all of the battery power to accessories. There is a 10 minute "Battery Saver" that the ignition key controls. All of the interior lights, radio, dash lighting, exterior courtesy lights...they all get their power via this circuit.

Ford got smart back in 2003/2004 and went to a common radio harness & mount system.
except for some of the smaller cars, you can mix n' match with ease.

The PCM controls the engine managment.
The SJB controls the power accessories
except the power window motors...

There is a module configuration process you are leaving out....
It might work swip and swap but it might not interface with the
other modules correctly unless properly comfigured at the stealership....

wouldn't be too sure about that 157db
I know guys in the F-150 community who have been swapping these radios for years and not a single issue.
In fact, it is a very popular swap for guys to install a Shaker 500/1000 into their trucks. The only issue is that in 2008 ford changed the bolt-holes by about 1/8"...still works fine, but you have to finesse the holes ever so slightly now.
sorry, but I did put the wrong acronym in that bottom paragraph. The Inst. Cluster does all of the electrical routing. Not the PCM

Speaking of Shaker 1000 help. I think my dilemma is the somewhat the same yet the opposite. I've been recently doing mods to my 06 Mustang GT from inside to outside to under the hood and so on. As of now setting off my stereo system and getting it right is my main goal. I recently got a Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD installed with JBL Amp and 4 Pioneer 4-way 6X8 speakers. Now I just got a nice deal on a factory Shaker 1000 sub with the amps attached. Since my car didn't come with any shaker system as factory, does that mean my car isn't pre-wired to have a Shaker 1000 sub easily installed in the trunk??
Or is it not really a big deal and as long as I go to a very good quality audio installation place they can take care of it?
Should I go to Ford and ask them to install it, or maybe they wont touch it since my head unit is aftermarket??
Please help,
Thank you.....
