Default 1st 2 days with my GT / backfire question

So far, no significant problems with shaker 500, filled up this morning w/ no issues. I think the front right shock is popping but not too bad. shifter feels like jello so i think i'm going to do the bushing stiffening mod.

gotten lots of looks, nods, thumbs up's, almost got a ticket this morning after filling up but the motorcycle copy just glared at me as i slowed down and threw my hands up...i waved "thanks" as i passed

about the backfire, it happened last night as i was pulling into the inlaws driveway. i was pulling in slowly feathering the clutch and gas and BOOM - sounded like an M80 went off right behind me. anyone ever have this happen?

Has it happened again or has it quit? If it happened again, beat feet to the dealer. Abnormal backfiring could cause some damage if it keeps up.

Hasn't happened again since...I was actually moving (slowly) when it happened and there's been plenty of opportunities for it to happen again (same conditions). I'm not going to worry about it unless it does it again. Could have been crappy gas I guess. It happened on the 1st tank (dealer-filled).

I figure if it wasn't the gas then it must have been a computer glitch or something with the variable valve timing to have caused the exhaust valve to open during a compression stroke.

What does bug me though is if there was valve damage how would i know? The car doesn't behave differently still accellerates like a beast and no CEL.

What's this "bushing stiffening mod" you speak of?
