Default help with new stang

Need a little advice here,

I love my stang, I think it is one of the best looking and I know there is no car that has been better taken care of. However, the fact that it is an automatic has really started to bother me. so, I have decided to trade her in.

I want to take the plunge for a used (2007-8) Gt500. which sell for about 38k. this is out of my range but I can definately handle a car payment, specially since my current pony is paid off.

As I have been shopping around I have found the shelby Gt's, the same year as the GT500, selling for about 31K. What gives? I thought these were just GTs with fancy badgings?

Are the Shelby Gts worth the money? they seem to retain their value and they are a lot cheaper than the GT500? The reason I ask is that I could probably buy the Shelby GT cash and have no payment.

Any advice would help...

I don't think you'd be talking about much of an upgrade here. Since you already have a GT and the upgrades really are minimal to the Shelby GT, I say save your pennies for a while and get the GT 500 or roll your money into getting blown.

Shelby's don't "sell" for 31k people ask 31k and get 27k.

no comparison between a shelby GT and a GT500

The Shelby GT has the same 4.6 as a regular GT with a couple of small mods. The GT500 has the 5.4

Save your money and get a GT500 or wait and see what the 2011 Mustang has

I would get the GT500, theres no replacement for displacement! Plus, shelby gts aren't really all that special compared to GT500s.

You don't read many magazines? Find the january Shelby magazine and be amased at what shelby builds at their factory. GT500's ARE build at the shelby plant. The base mustang that will become a GT500 are build by ford, just like the rest of them. The january issue has about 30 some pages on this. good read.

Shelby GT is slightly better than a trim package.

No way I would ever buy a regular Shelby GT. Like others have said, save for the GT500.
