Default 255/45/18 & 275/40/18... ?

Why the higher middle thickness for the fronts, I just installed this setup on my stang and was kinda curious why it was the front not the rear..?? THanks !

it just measures out to a smidge bigger on the fronts when you do the math. my buddy recommended me getting 245/45/18 but they werent in stock at my time of purchase.

its working fine for me and it wont hurt you.

I believe 07gtdude meant 285/40/17. A common staggered set-up is 255/45/18 and 285/40/18. 285/40/18 in the rear will look better than the 275/40/18.

Isnt it 285/35/18 or something? Unless thats the new edge sizing...

The 255/45/18 in the front keeps it close to the stock size but its still a little smaller. I wish I could get a little less sidewall. Only thing that helps in the front is I have a small amount of camber, so when the sidewalls deflect I still get a pretty decent contact patch.

Not sure what you are asking or how you are figuring.
255 wide with an aspect ratio of 45 and a rim diameter of 18.
Whats higher middle thickness? The thickness of the sidewall?
Lost in space.....

yep. 285/40/18 almost half an inch taller than 275/40/18. 285/40 isnt as common of a size though
