Why do the 2005-2010 Mustangs sound so "meh" compared to the 99-04 GT's? Idk, they just sound...kinda...grindy, if that's the word.
Also, I may be finally upgrading soon into a 2010 GT, BUTTTTT if this new 5.0 is supposed to come out next year, will it even be worth it?

difference in valves and placement of the mufflers for the most part...the 3v just doesnt sound like the 2v or 4v. Most agree those sound better. Stingers and/or are perhaps the best way to get close to that sound. Having an axleback instead of mid mounted mufflers just doesnt help IMO

I have heard that said before. I had a 2004 GT and do notice a difference as you say (I have a 2006 GT now) - both 100% stock. Maybe it is because the 05+ GTs are more "refined". This is not necessarily a bad thing. Obviously, any aftermarket mods would make a difference. I think it is all about personal preference and what you like - there are so many options with our cars.
As far as upgarding - I think that is like anything else. Next years model (Car, PC, Cell Phone, Wife, etc...) will always be different and usually improved. Again, if you get the 2010 and then they do something new in 2011, would you regret it? Take it from me (3 Mustangs and a Mazda MX5 since 2004) - you always lose money. I would hang in there, enjoy your car, and listen to your heart - but watch your wallet.
Cheers
