Default Smoked headlights

Prolly get this question quite a bit.. but I've been thinking about getting smoked headlight covers for my '06 GT. They make the mustang look like a mean beast, which I like, but I am also concerned with night driving. I've been considering these from AM.

http://www.americanmuscle.com/05-mus...ht-covers.html

I have read reviews where people put in extra bright bulbs and everything is all cool and dandy. Was wondering if there was more detailed feedback on this. I already have a bit of a difficulty with night driving and I am not a person to remove and place the covers on a regular basis. Feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

i have the covers but only use them for shows, bc they are too dark for night driving and they also rub the paint a little too. i also have tinted overlays at 35% which i use to drive. the overlays look darker than stock but is still good for night driving.
heres a link to where i got the overlays from, they also have tail light overlays too, you can also get them in 20%

Hey onederful100,

Your car looks sick! What brand covers do you have?

I don't see the GTS logos on them. Did you remove them or did they come like that?

Nice looking tint color. What headlight bulbs do you use? How was the installation process? Have you had any issues driving on the street with the 35% light smoked?

That's one wicked looking Stang tho. Black is one of my favorite colors

i took off the GTS logos with my fingernail and then used alcohol to get off the excess sticky stuff.

the headlights are stock. the installation with the tint overlays is super easy, just like tint, just use soapy water and a small squeegy to get out the bubbles, goes on in minutes. no problems with the 35% at all, i think it is perfect for the headlights, no problems at night either, a little dimmer than stock but not too bad at all. the tail lights are 20% and those are good too even at night. when i used the covers a couple times i almost got T-boned bc people couldnt see me that well at night the lights were so dim. and inside the foglight covers i have a ford logo so at night when i turn them on both fogs have the ford logo in them.

I have the AVS headlight covers. They fit great and are easy to remove for night driving. I have HID lights but they still don't shine through enough. I've haven't tried the GTS head light covers but I didn't really like the GTS tail light covers. They didn't fit that great so I painted my tail lights instead.

these are the Lund covers on my old GT

Pop on and off very easily and can't be removed unless you pop the hood.
They are too dark to drive at night, and unless you use the foglights you won't see anything! Had to paint over the logo as it doesn't peel off...
