Default Power Locks not Working

Hey,

My power locks haven't worked since I bought my car used a year ago. The car remote doesn't unlock or lock the doors either (although it can turn off the alarm and flash the lights when the car would normally unlock/lock). The locks can be done manually, but that is annoying.

I have disconnected the battery to try to fix it (and it put my radio into safe mode... lol). I have also checked all of the fuses and none are blown. Neither fixed the problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Sounds like the actuators are out. can you hear the locks 'try' to work when the remote is pressed? This is a common issue with the 99-04.

I can't really hear anything when I press the button. Both sides have this problem too, so would both actuators be likely to get blown at the same time (because of a surge or something)?

Thanks for the input!

Sounds like a connector is off of your SJB.
Check fuse 62 in the BEC under the hood...
Check C2280E, C2280G and C2280H on the SmartJunctionBox
under the passengers side kick panel...
Thats the only thing common to both sides not working...
When you say 'manually', what do you mean?
Does the switch on the door panel activate them?
Or do you have to actually grip the door lock stem
that protrudes from the top of the door panel?

check your fuses...or better yet, just replace the door lock fuses.

occasionally the fuses will blow, but still look intact. you really should test fuses using an ohmeter unless it is obviously blown

True that, my brother drives a 2002 and we didn't have an ohmeter so we just replaced the fuses for the hell of it and presto! It worked, it sucked but used process of elimination and it came down to the fuses.
