Tornadoes are fun...
Just had to share this, considering I bought my first Mustang 3 weeks ago...
So I left work today and the weather was very hot, humid and sunny. All of a sudden I find myself driving right smack into the most hellacious storm I've seen in some time. It came out of freaking nowhere. I wish I had my camera because the pics would've been amazing.
As I sat at a red light, all I could see was this wall of black moving towards me rapidly. It hit before I left the intersection. Talk about BAD! Suddenly I couldn't see a thing and had no choice but to put my hazard lights on and pull over. Anchored road signs were literally flapping in the wind, trees were bent over touching the ground with huge limbs breaking off, and the rain came in horizontal sheets, traveling UP the windshield instead of DOWN. You could see rain curtains actually moving in a twisting motion. Couldn't see the hand in front of my face, yet my 'Stang didn't even budge. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when I saw a big swirling cloud very low to the ground. Could it really be a tornado? Nah!
Well folks, it was. The local news basically confirmed it. That was THE most interesting experience I've had while on the road, in my new car nonetheless! Fortunately me and my pony arrived home without a scratch. Would I do it over again? Hell no! I can't get over how fast it all happened.
For a small-ish car, they seem to be freaking beasts in bad weather conditions!
Anyone else have a harrowing road story to tell?

You are lucky your car came out without a scratch. It could have been very ugly but I'm glad you and your Mustang are OK.
BTW, did you ever get around to taking off the side molding? Your car would look so much better without it.

If everything goes OK, I'm planning to do it this weekend. Unfortunately I'm dealing with general craziness in other areas of my life that come first...hopefully I'll have a few minutes to myself soon!
Ive always wondered what it would be like to get trapped in a tornado if you were in a car with ridiculous amounts of down force... Maybe you can find a ricer with a mega-wing and no brains to see if he could drive straight through one without getting blown off the road..
u got lucky dude, the the mutang gods were watching over ya! it coulda been alot worse, if there was hail in that to! u might as well of kissed ur paint goodbye... i dont deal with tornados around here, i know its caused by high and low air currents but can it hail during a tornado?

Sounds like you would like driving in Arizona, we don't have tornadoes but we have what's called summer Monsoon Season that gets pretty hairy to drive. You ever drive through a giant dust storm like you see in the movies..picture that with high winds.
