Got offered 10k by CarMax, the cheapest GT they had for sale nationwide was 15k. I guess everyone needs to make a living but wow.

That is funny. The guys on the Corvette Forums say the exact same thing about Mustang owners! They claim all Mustang owners are kids that wanna race and the dou*he bag word is thrown around a lot. Owning both I always have issues when people generalize like that and I have said in the past on the CF forum "Ya know, I frequent a Mustang forum where I have never heard a Mustang owner call a Corvette owner something nasty". Thank you for proving me wrong.

I dont think people are even buying the 2010s. I have also heard a lot of people dont like the 2010s so they are trying to find a used s197. I dunno I guess try to sell it private and then put the money toward the other car.

Hardest part about doing that is if you dont have a DD to drive around if you sell your mustang quickly and cant find a sti that you want. Best thing to do is find the car you want get some numbers on it, try to sell your mustang private and then take the cash and go down to the dealership and buy the sti.

A lot easier to buy a car than it is to sell one right now...

My car is on auto trader and a local dealer called me to tell me he was looking for a sherrod mustang for a customer. He asked me if i was firm on the price, i told him yeah. Im selling for 34,000. He then said there was a brand new 08 sherrod mustang for 31,000. I then said then why the hell are you calling me for and hung up on him. I knew he was full of **** because when he said 31,000 for a new one i was like damn thats cheap. So i called the dealer he said had it and i asked him how much for the car? They said 44,000. Just like i thought. Damn dealers are always trying to rip people off. Them dealers are a bunch of liars.

Yeah dealerships suck you have to be real ignorant with them. Or else they will boss you around. I go in there with a give a crap about nothing attitude usually. If you don't then they will try and run circles around you. All you have to do is tell it like it is unfortinatly for me it results in either no response or I just end up walking out. It just amazes me that they would give me prolly 20 for my car but I gurantee it they would ask 24 or 25 for it.

I walked into a dealer last week looking for a new daily driver. I said I want that car and here is what I'll pay and the dealer said "nope" and I started to walk out. On my way out the front door and he said "Don't you want to talk about it?" and I said "Nope" and "You just lost the easiest sale of the year". I walked into the second dealer and said the same thing and he said "Done, should I write it up?" and I said "Yup". I was in and out in 30 minutes and got the car I wanted at a fair price for me and the dealer. The first dealer called me back the next day and said "We can work something out" and I said "Sorry, I bought from dealer X and I pick the car up tomorrow" and hung up.

same thing here.

I found a cherry 08 in Vista blue used with 14-15,000 miles...they wanted $28,000 for it before taxes. I tried for 3 days to get the price lower...they wouldn't budge. I was only asking for $24,000 out the door. Fair price IMO for a used 2 yr old car.

I found my brand new 2009 Bullitt for $38,000. After negotiating and rebates, I drove my Bullitt off the lot for $27,500 before taxes.

later that week, the 1st Dealership called me up and asked if I still wanted the car. So I came by there and showed them my BRAND NEW Bullitt...that I had payed less money for. They were a bit pissed. Serves them right for being greedy.

but I'm glad they were. I'm much happier with this car....btw, those high prices are Hawaii. Wish I could get some of the cheap deals you guys have

I won't say how much I paid for my 08 vert because no one would believe me but I went in to buy a used 04 Cobra the dealer had and after driving that car I decided to look elsewhere because the car was really hammered. The dealer asked me if I'd like to look at new Mustangs and he said with the 4500 back that Ford was giving at the time that he could get me into an 08 pretty cheaply. I was amazed at the deal I got. Then again the car had been on their lot for 380 days and the 09's were out and the 2010's were only 3-4 months away. I also assume that not many people were buying verts in Oct in PA. Either way, I was ecstatic! I wanted a car with a blower and with the deal I got I was able to buy a Slaeen SC and the whole job plus the car still cost me significantly less than the original sticker price.
