Default Buying torque converter need a tune?

I am going to be buying a torque converter in about a week or so just wanted to know if i need to contact my tuner to have him make me a new tune? Help from anyone who has done this upgrade would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,
George

I did some research on this (haven't bought one yet) and what I learned is that a tune is not a requirement, but your tuner can make adjustments to your shift points or where the converter locks up if you aren't happy with the performance

Chris is right. I did a converter swap a few months ago, and needed to tweak the shift points a little. The adjustability was present in my SCT tune so I was able to make the 'WOT shift' adjustments.
But you might not need to make any adjustments at all, also.

just give your car a few driving cycles to get used to the different shifting learned. Resetting the computer or disconnecting the battery for 20 mins is not a bad idea when you put the converter in, so it relearns the shifting.
