His post sounded super excited but the fact is there is a 90% chance he will not be doing it.

People get all excited about modifying Mustangs, and think it's cheap, they will get a good return on their investment, and that doing it is easy.

The reality is that none of those things are true.

You and Cutterwolf are all either very smart or got very lucky with appearance mods.

The real world isn't like that, I could think of at least ten different appearance setups that would be better worth $10,000, "if you do something unique it costs twice as much as copying something" - that something from the mouth of Jesse James when he was describing customizing cars to a guy that was asking him about it. Things are never going to look like you think they do unfortunately I see it all the time.

People really don't realize how much these cars cost too. They get excited and get sticker shock. Worse yet they run out of money half way through, and they only finish half of their mods and the car ends up looking unbalanced.
I'd consider myself and Mellowyellow both smart and a little lucky. We were smart enough to save our money, do some research and then go price shopping for the best parts at the lowest cost. Sure you have to spend some cash but no one ever said to was cheep to mod cars in fact that's just about common knowledge to everyone.

Having a vision of how you want your car to look in your head is free but its realizing how to make it happen is half the battle and most of the fun. Mellowyellow and myself have always helped anyone who wanted to do this conversion and we have always sent them to the right people to make it happen. We have always (when asked) told them up front of the cost and work involved from start to finish so they could make up their own mind if its worth it "for them" or not. And I can't even count the number of times I have told MF members about the importance of "flow" and thinking about your mods in the big picture in stead of just a part at a time. Or how important it is to have an over all goal and a plan to complete it.

So if he wants to do this then let him its his car and his money just don't point a finger at him and tell him he's using crack for having a vision..............

Most likely a homicidal cult, just like every zealous automotive group. Joe once killed two Honda owners with the just the shrub deflector from his Ford Explorer...

Geez, who are you, Debbie Downer? Why don't you tell him his dog died, too.

I'd say I've spent about 6k on her so far, am prob gonna put another 1-2k in her, maybe more one the intercooler for the x comes out.
5k is go mods, prob woulda had to spend a few k more then that to trade in and get a gt.
Would be nice to have the room to grow w/ a gt, but I think I got a pretty sweet setup, and its prob a good thing for my wallet I dont have that room to grow. How much do I know I woulda been spending on a wipple

Why and what do I apologize for? Believe me, dogs die, cars suck, installers screw up, visions of awesome mods don't turn peachy.

That wasn't my point thought, I was saying actually that it's not as easy as the top halo cars on the forum have it.

I'm not really offended by saying that or pointing out that there are better options for $10,000. I'm buying a set of $7,000 wheels, but I know what I like and I know it will look good. I'm careful with my money, time effort etc and there's nothing wrong with that approach to modding.

Most of the people in this thread are very calculated in their efforts. That's what they do and it's what you want to do. (and the op does too)

Note: Everyone is calculating except Pascal of course.

...at least no one's ragged on you for getting a V6!!!
Make it look like you want, indeed. The gt500 rear with the front does look good.

Good plan! Get the GT500 rear bumper to match your V6/GT500 side skirts like mentioned above.
