Unhappy Need help ... engine light on

I installed longtube headers w/catted x pipe and loudmouths about 5 months ago and im now getting p0053 (bank 1, sensor 1) trouble code. i was told to check my connections, fuses and o2 sensor. I replaced the o2 sensor, checked wiring and looked at fuse box and found fuse number 6 and 54 popped. i replaced fuse 54 and 6 popped again right after replacing it. The manual say fuse 6 is for rear amplifier so it shouldn't affect the o2...am i right? Fuse 54 has not popped and my engine light remained off for quite awhile but just turned on again. Can someone help me find the problem?

ok me personally, i would start by figuring
out why fuse 6 keeps popping, even though
on the surface it may seem unrelated, it might
indicate a problem somewhere in the wiring harness.

let us know exactly what it is you want to
troubleshoot and maybe one of us will have some
advice as to how to go about it.

What codes are you getting?? If you don't have a scannner you can go to an autozone or pep boys and they will read it for you.

I don't know why your fuses are popping, perhaps a bad ground? Did you have to move the ground strap in the engine compartment when you intalled the LTs

As far as i know fuse number 6 is only for the rear amp and i noticed that my back speakers went out about a month ago but just havent bothered to get it fixed. when i installed the LTs i had to add extensions so that the o2 sensors could reach connections. Those connections came with the LTs, which i checked for damage. There isnt any visible damage and the are well connected. im only getting p0053 code. I will checkout why fuse 6 is popping, even though that might not be it, then again you never know.

Torr2040, i looked at the manual last night
and it looks like there are connectors in the
trunk (passenger side) to disconnect the sub.

i'm not sure how easy it is to get to these
connectors tho.

maybe you can disconnect the sub then see
if fuse 6 pops, if it does, that will rule out
a problem with the sub itself.

Don't know what LTs you have but I think most require moving that GND strap...I know mine did. Check that out.

if you had to extend the O2 wire then there may be a loose connection.
a faulty O2 sensor will definitley cause an engine light to appear

as for the rear sub. there should just be a small plug. just un hook it like hammeron said and see what happens

I will definitely try disconnecting the sub and see if that works. As far as faulty o2 sensor i replaced bank1 sensor 1, which is the area throwing the code. I rechecked all the connections and wires are okay. I have slp headers for those wondering what LTs i have. i also reloaded my 93 performance tune to see if that would help. So far ive driven the car about 20 miles and no engine light, but i wouldnt be suprised if it came back. I appreciate the help from everyone.
