Default TCI Auto Shifter Noise.

I thought the TCI shifter looked pretty slick. I figured I might shift it a little bit, but mostly keep it in drive. Installed it a week ago, and the darn thing makes a ticking noise. Like I need another noise in the cabin. While in drive, on the highway, or just before it shifts it will tick very quickly. The tick is louder with my hand on the shifter. Very strange.
If i put a small amount of pressure on the shifter and push it towards neutral, the tick stops. I bought it from Jegs and I haven't contacted them yet. I really don't want to pull it out and put the stock one back in, but if I have to I will.
The ratchet and park release work fine. Everything works fine. But the nasty ticking noise.
Any suggestions?

Hey, did you ever get this fixed?? I was thinking about getting one but I, like you, have a noisey enough cabin! Keep us posted.

I've had mine about 3 months and no noises of any kind. Call or email TCI customer service.

I called TCI. They had never heard of this type of problem before.
I think it was an electrical issue in the shifter, but not positive about that.
I returned it to Jegs for a refund. Stock shifter no ticking noise.

Mine doesn't do that. It's a great shifter. You should get another one!
