Default drivers window problem HELP PLEASE

08 GT

when i hit the button for it to go up, whether on auto or not, it goes up about a few inches, then comes back down, and i have to hit the button again to bring it up, upon which it only works manually, unless i let it go up a few inches, then hit it again for automatic.

this is annoying as hell!!! any ideas???

Try the window recalibration procedure in your Owners Manual.

Feel free to post up the calibration procedure here for the rest of us. I was unaware there was such a thing.

I took my car to the dealership last week cause windows woulnt auto roll up. By the time I got down there they were working fine though. =\

From the '07 OM:

Restoring the Express up functionality (Front windows only)
Under low battery power conditions, Express Up only functionality may
be lost. To reset this function after restoring full battery power, pull the
switch to the Express Up position, hold the switch until the glass
reaches the stall position and continue to hold for 2 seconds. Push the
window switch DOWN and operate the window to the full down position.

Express UP will now be functional.
Perform Express UP re-calibration with door closed only.
Calibrating with door openwill cause the window to continuously
bounce back.

I think that means the end of the window's travel (e.g., all the way up).

I have the same problem but with my passenger side door window.

I actually hear a rattling sound when I'm driving (it's really annoying) when I go over bumps.

I mentioned this to my service advisor and he said it was because of my exhaust (I highly doubt it).

I think that it might have something to do with the windows motor
because my brother (2000 Trans Am) and sister (2000 Camero) both have had similar problems.

if the stall position is when it goes all the way up, i did that, and the problem remains.

This is a little far out, but we're getting a bit desperate here. Inspect the sides of the window and the window weather strip very carefully. It could be that there is a tiny bit of debris that is causing the window to think there is an obstruction, and it needs to stop.
