Default Electrical Issue - Need some advice

My 2007 GT is a daily driver (~75 miles/day). Normally it fires right up, this morning there was a bit of hesitation (maybe 2 seconds).

On the way to work while stopped at a red light, all the electronics turned off. The dummy warning lights for "Check charging system" came on along with the ABS and traction control and the battery gauge was completely down.

The car continued to run fine, no rough idle or hesitation, which leads me to thing it's NOT the alternator. Once at work the windows wouldn't work until I turned it off and then just crept up. And now there's not enough juice left in the battery to turn over.

Any thoughts or similar issues???

My thought is that you probably have a bad battery.

Have the battery tested. Mine went bad all of the sudden one time. If its not bad, have you installed anything electrical lately?

Dead battery.
Have it charged then load tested.
Check the alternator for proper output...

Thanks for the replies, I had the same thoughts but it's nice to get some confirmation. Dropped the battery off at pep boys (only option near work) they're testing it now and will call me. Picked up a new one just in case. Once the battery is back in I'm getting the alternator tested. I'll update once I know.

Default Update...

As it turns out the battery was fine, it was a bad alternator. A two year old car and the alternator is shot. Has anyone seen this before?

Yea it does happen, its a electrical component... Things like that really dont have a set life span any one of ours can go at any given time.

I know, but it still sucks to drop $330 on the oem part.

Dont have a local alternator shop? The one we have around here charges 125$ depending on whats actually wrong.. Some times its just a 20$ part that they can replace. They have saved me alot of money over time
